Realizations of the day

The soul has 3 qualities, it is eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss/love.
Within each and everyone of us, we have the knowledge to create even a universe, just like Lord Brahma. But currently we can’t because the knowledge is covered. Just like a mirror is covered with dust, if we wipe off the dust, slowly we can see everything. In a similar way, if we uncover our ignorance, we can realize that we have incredible knowledge. We don’t attain kowledge, but we simply uncover the covering that is blocking/hiding the knowledge.  In some people the knowledge is more uncovered than others, and thus we have different levels of knowledge and understanding.

The 3 qualities of all Souls:
sac – Eternal
cid – Full of knowledge
ananda – Blissful

“As the blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the fire of knowledge burn to ashes all reactions to material activities.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.37)
So how does one uncover more knowledge?
Quality teachers/Gurus. Listen to those who have seen the truth and not those who only imagine or guess or pretend.

“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.34)

God is a person with a form and He is pleased by personal service.
What benefit would a King or President of country get from people bowing down to him or calling his name? Absolutely nothing.
What benefit would a child get if someone calls his/her name or bows down to him? Absolutely nothing.
What benefit would you get if someone calls your name or bows down to you? Absolutely nothing.

In a similar way, God gets absolutely no benefit if people just call His name or bow down to Him. The King/President can only benefits if people serve him by offering crops/taxes/goods which the King/President can use for himself and to maintain his kingdom/country. The child only benefits if his mother or others give him/her food, clothing, and shelter. In a similar way, God can only be benefited and pleased if we serve Him, by offering Him water, leaf, flower, and other items. This is called deity service. Serving Him in Person and in His deity form is the same, because He is so merciful that He accepts our service in our current condition. In the material creation, it is not possible for everyone to see God in His original form every day, and so He manifests Himself in the form of a deity, so everyone gets a chance to serve Him. God is omnipotent and omnipresent and so He manifests Himself in deities, to prove that He is merciful by giving everyone the chance to serve Him. This is the Vedic teaching, which comes from God Himself.

The whole purpose of Religion is to know and serve God. One is religious if he knows God as a person and serves Him via deity service.
Deity service includes offering Him food items, chanting His names, and chanting His glories. It is not that God needs our food or items, no. He is the one who supplies us with everything. Our offerings to Him gives us the chance to serve Him. On mother’s day the child will buy items using the mother’s money and give to the mother and she is very pleased. In a similar way, God is very pleased if we think of Him and thank Him for all He gives us by offering some of His items back to Him.

“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.26)

“But those who worship Me with devotion, meditating on My transcendental form–to them I carry what they lack and preserve what they have.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.22)

“Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature and My supreme dominion over all that be.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.11)
